Our Mission & Philosophy

Excellence in Mind, Heart and Soul

In the tradition of the finest Jewish day schools, Torah Academy combines an outstanding Judaic studies curriculum with an excellent General studies program, preparing our children for the high schools, colleges, and universities of their choice.

In addition to our rigorous academic curriculum, the program is designed to instill within our students core Jewish values, such as kindness, respect for parents, elders and peers; patience, generosity, a love of learning, modesty, and commitment to Jewish life and community, locally and worldwide.

Confidence is the Core

The most important foundation for your child’s educational growth is a strong sense of self. Children who have confidence feel secure about themselves and have the courage to take risks and forgive themselves if the outcome of their effort doesn’t succeed the first time. Children who have confidence embrace critical thinking and are invigorated by challenges rather than being stymied by them. Our growth-minded, warm, supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere is a greenhouse that allows our students to explore their world and encourages their creativity and curiosity to flourish. Interactive and hands-on learning is another crucial ingredient in the educational process. Children learn best by exploring and discovering the world around them, making hypotheses and testing them in the laboratory of life.

A constructivist classroom — in which a child learns through self discovery –ensures that children retain information for longer and with more clarity. It means that children apply their learning to future experiences, synthesizing what they know with what they encounter. Frequent field trips to nature centers, museums, orchards and other hands-on centers of learning augment this experiential approach to cognitive development.

Torah Academy offers that fertile ground to plant the seeds for your child’s success!

Here’s a video we found inspiring. The message of the uniqueness of each individual student strongly embodies the precept of “Teach each child according to his way” (Mishlei/Proverbs, 22:6), something we completely agree with and fully embrace in Torah Academy.
