Rabbi Menashe Elkin joins Torah Academy with a rich background in business and education. In 1989, as a young child, he and his family emigrated to the United States from the U.S.S.R. He was primarily raised in Highland Park, Illinois. Subsequent to earning a degree from DePaul University’s College of Commerce and an M.B.A. from Long Island University, Rabbi Elkin attended various Yeshivos in the U.S. and Israel. After spending 10 years in the business sector he returned to Israel, teaching finance to college students from South America, and teaching Talmud in Jerusalem’s Old City. Currently, he is also a secular studies faculty member at Yeshivas Tiferes Tzvi and Yeshivas Telshe Chicago. At Torah Academy he teaches Science and Public Speaking to the middle school students. Rabbi Elkin’s greatest aspiration is to continue to identify and refine dynamic forms of pedagogy — to ensure student engagement. When he is not teaching Rabbi Elkin loves drawing and playing sports with his two sons.
